The Earth in Space and Time
The Matter of Origin of the Space and the Earth
The introductory lecture evening will deal with the matter that sets considerable
disputes: “How old is space and our planet and when, how and why did we
start to exist?” The so-called Big Bang theory will be introduced and then
its compatibility with new discoveries in physics and astronomy will be
discussed. In the second part of the lecture, you can see the multimedia
presentation showing the catastrophe model of the so-called geological
column, which is used in, among other things, the dating of fossil findings.
The discussion will also deal in detail with the evidence of rapid deposition
of geological layers, evidence of canyon formation and their significance
in the Earth's age dating.
