The
significance of the weekly cycle
The final ninth lecture deals with the origin and the significance of the weekly
cycle. In this unique presentation, Professor Veith will guide you through
the whole history of this remarkable phenomenon. You will learn of the
first reference to the weekly cycle in history, you will be introduced
to the results of unsuccessful attempts to change the length of a week
(and increase productivity) and besides you will get a detailed overview
of all available proof indicating that the 7–day cycle is not only a
human institution or tradition. In the course of the lecture the physiological
and spiritual nature of the seventh day of the week — the so-called day
of rest — and its meaning for our everyday life will also be revealed.
